Pros
Felt glamorous, researchers who travelled stayed at the best hotels. Also some very sharp minds who had survived over 5 years there.
Cons
Horrendously toxic and cliquey. Bosses favourites abounded and they would mob and bully talented newcomers with impunity. They were the very opposite of a meritocracy and they so deserved to be be cut down to 10% of their former size.
