Pros
- the trees on campus are beautiful
Cons
I advise any potential applicants not to work in this location. I have experienced multiple payroll delays, and at present have been communicating with university representatives all week to ensure I will be paid today.... I was not, and my prior paycheck was also not available. I have been informed by other employees that the university is struggling to find new hires due to the poor pay they offer, and administrators misrepresented the pay structure I expected in the first place. Many employees outside of instructional role work for the university hoping to be able to afford grad school on the reduced tuition plan... The reduced tuition plan isn't even feasible before PhD students admitted with fee waivers as part of their package. Countless faculty members have refused to honor accommodations or indicated to me that they plan to do so. There are other universities in the same city. This one is not worth your time, and I plan to retake classes I took here elsewhere because of the poor quality of education available. Things will not improve until administrators making massive paychecks stop preying on other employees. HR responded in disturbing ways to allegations of racism by colleagues of mine, and brushed these concerns under the rug. I do not expect any type of discrimination to be adequately dealt with within this workplace setting, and advise you not to apply if this is a concern.
