Too much silent firing - Staff Software Engineer Fluxon Employee Review

Pros

- Fully remote work - Culture is generally better than most companies, aside from the issue of silent firings.

Cons

- The pay is tied to your current salary rather than your experience or market standards. This creates large pay gaps among people with similar backgrounds and can leave you feeling underpaid and undervalued. - There is frequent hiring followed by silent firings - They don't offer stock or stock options or bonuses - You have to take interviews also in addition to your work for no added benefit - Those who put in the actual work often go unnoticed, and plenty of money and title given to people who barely does anything - Less learning opportunities as you are basically dumped on whatever project they need you to work on

Pros

Elite Talent Density: Working here means being surrounded by people who are as brilliant as they are industrious. It is an incredibly empowering environment where you never have to worry about carrying the weight alone. Culture of Initiative: There is zero "dead time." When projects wrap up, the team naturally pivots to internal innovation or skill-sharing. It’s a place where curiosity is actually rewarded. Fully Remote & Global: Despite being remote, the culture of positivity and affirmation is palpable. The company has mastered the art of staying connected and driven across time zones. Fast-Paced Growth: I’ve been here nearly a year, and the speed at which we accomplish complex projects is unlike anything I’ve seen elsewhere.

Cons

Not for the Passive: This isn't a "clock-in, clock-out" kind of place. If you aren't self-motivated or if you prefer to be told exactly what to do at every moment, you will feel overwhelmed. High Bar for Engagement: To find satisfaction here, you need to be someone who thrives on challenges and actively seeks out work during quiet periods. Those looking for a slower, more predictable pace may find our environment too intense. Timezone Coordination: Being a global, remote company means you have to be comfortable managing your schedule across various timezones. If you require a strict 9-to-5 window with no overlap or flexibility, this rhythm will be a challenge for you.

Pros

* Great culture - the company really cares about its people, manager asks to check work/life balance is good, whenever overloaded manager tries to hep rebalance work * Interesting projects - projects spanning from startups to large companies and cross different industries, right now many AI projects

Cons

Although it's great to work remotely, would be nice to connect with people more often in-person
