Pros

Alright salaries. Average benefits package. Some good people but most of them were made redundant anyway.

Cons

Where should I start. Freedom Fibre went through redundancies TWICE in 16 months. The second time they've cut 2/3 of the business leaving just a few to keep the company afloat until it gets under completely or someone buys it. The number of incompetent managers across the board is just ridiculous. Hiring seems to favour personal connections ("mate" mentality) rather than demonstrable skill. Many people are placed in roles only because they know somebody without enough knowledge of what the business does and lack the skills. Absolutely no communication between teams, no structure, processes are nowhere to be found. Management often makes decisions in isolation, without consulting the teams involved which lead to constant issues, unrealistic expectations, overwork, poor relationships with partners and clients. No thrive to change or evolve as a business. There is little appetite for change: problems are allowed to repeat, and questioning decisions or proposing improvements is discouraged. Managers are happy to be stuck with the vicious circle of same repetitive mistakes as long as their job is secure they prefer not to ask questions or challenge. I’ve been in the industry for quite some time, and without a doubt, Freedom Fibre has been the most dysfunctional company I’ve worked for. I hope this gives potential candidates a clearer picture before making a decision.
