Pros

- Good training and support - Remote working - Can choose hours

Cons

- Not given much trust - Management want you to message immediately when there is the slightest issue, which can be difficult to juggle while being present in the lesson for your students. - Once you have picked your lesson days/times you are locked into that for a year and can't request time off. Completely understandable why, to maintain quality but something to consider.

Pros

Working at Funtech feels like it was designed by tutors who actually care about tutors. You are not just allowed, but actively encouraged to skip classes if you don’t feel like it. Tired? Busy? Just not in the mood? Totally fine. They always have someone ready to take over. No guilt, no awkward messages, no subtle pressure. It’s honestly wild how chill and supportive they are. The pay is still absurdly good: £30 per hour, paid easily and reliably. At that rate, private lessons genuinely stop making sense. Why deal with scheduling chaos and payment chasing when Funtech just… pays you properly? And then there’s the support. No micromanagement whatsoever. They trust you completely. You’re treated like a professional adult who knows what they’re doing. It creates such a relaxed, positive teaching environment that you actually enjoy showing up. Now let’s talk about benefits that shouldn’t be shocking but somehow are: They’ll literally give you a headset if you want one. A real, physical headset. Who does that?? Most places won’t even reply to your emails, and Funtech is out here like “do you want better equipment to make your job easier?” One of the fairest contracts I’ve ever seen. Transparent, simple, and somehow manages to benefit you even more than them. No hidden nonsense, no sketchy clauses. Incredible organisation. Sessions run smoothly, replacements are easy to find, and nothing ever feels chaotic. Respect for your time. If you say no, it means no. End of discussion. Overall, Funtech is flexible, well-paid, supportive, and almost suspiciously considerate. It’s the kind of job that makes you realise how unnecessarily stressful other tutoring companies are. If more organisations worked like this, tutors everywhere would be significantly happier.

Cons

Risk of becoming spoiled by fair pay and good organisation. Such a healthy work environment!
