Pros

First of all, I'm not a review-type of person. However, I feel it's my obligation as a content employee to share a different outlook than what I can see others have voiced. Let's get one thing straight. I would find it hard to believe that anyone who has worked for a PR agency knows that it's not a 9-5 job. Nowadays, what job is really 9-5 or even 8-6? When you're invested, and you believe in contributing to the growth and success of a company, you'll go above and beyond and embody a "whatever it takes" mentality. And like other agencies (I've work at several before), the extra hours ebb and flow, and GCI Health recognizes this, and treats their staff to lunch or occasionally offers time off. I’m not complaining about that! And let’s be real. When you work with people you genuinely respect, admire, and want to emulate, there is significant value in those experiences. Client work always come first, but new business is an essential part of our agency’s growth. For anyone who chooses to criticize their business strategy - hopefully you've opened and managed your own multi-million dollar PR agency before. At the end of the day, it's all about the people you work with. GCI Health believes in hiring the best talent in the industry, and HR/senior management lives this day in and day out. I see it in my colleagues who are mothers and fathers and work tirelessly to make sure staff, clients and their families are prioritized. I see it in the junior staff who yearn to bring creative and innovative thinking to the table, helping us strive to always be ahead of the curve. Finally, I see it in the senior leaders, especially our CEO, who work around the clock and often table their own happiness for the sake of their own people. Agency life is challenging for many, and often times you find out after you've started the job that you're just not at the right place – and that is OK. But if you are looking for an agency that understands you for you, has senior staff that are supportive, flexible and invested in the people, and yes let’s not forget, has high but realistic expectations, then GCI is an agency for you. At every level, the people are highly intelligent and you can be challenged or learn something new every day. My colleagues are visionaries, storytellers and advocates of the health care industry, and if you want to be a part of one of the best agencies in the business, GCI Health is one to consider.

Cons

Unclear if salary is on par with industry standards.
