Pros
- Great portfolio of clients means you're bound to leave with a sexy portfolio and get to try your hand at a variety of projects - bosses generally try to pair you with projs that match your personal interests - I particularly appreciated the level of ownership of projs and relatively flat hierarchy, no big agency politics, processes (timesheets ew) or layers of approval - but at the same time realise this can be a con for those who learn better under structure and close guidance - Suits expected to be hybrids here, which means that besides client management and strategy work, you can contribute in creative ideation as well; which I believe to be good practice - Great perks, good location - grooming benefits means brows always on fleek and legs smooth, OT dinner claims above average, fun office events from time to time, great GS merch, Chinatown means great food in the area and office is stylish - Good culture - people generally helpful and great to be around, including people from the overseas offices - Training sessions - sessions/ talks by bosses Pat and Eugenia, Kelly Olafson, various industry guest speakers from time to time
Cons
- You will work really hard. Like, really hard. Work-life balance is not a priority at GS, so if you're someone who needs your nights and weekends to yourself, I would suggest you re-consider - May not have access to same level of tools/ resources a network agency can provide; which can be useful esp when it comes to research/ strategy work - Self-run with little day-to-day guidance, bosses will not hand-hold you through projects/ check-in with you/ talk through how to do things, you'll need to be thick skinned sometimes
