Pros
No day the same, active job, challenging, rewarding when you see the children inspired, happy and making progress, brilliant days which you would have in no other job (residential trips with rock climbing, swimming in lakes, days out at farms and football stadiums, afternoons out in the sun teaching children sport etc)
Cons
Worked 50-60 hours a week for most the last 14 years, so yes you do get holidays (though end up working for a good chunk of some of them) but your pay probably works out at about £8/hr. The job is also quite emotionally draining to try and get everything right for the children while keeping the powers that be happy.
