Great place to be - Software Engineer Gearflow Employee Review

The leadership team at Gearflow elevates great performers. This combined with a desire for lean product engineering created the perfect storm resulting in a product motivated, engineering minded culture unlike anything I've experienced in my career. And it's this unique culture that enables everyone to feel empowered, appreciated and accountable for what they you, and how they do it. The engineering team at Gearflow has embraced experimentation and learning as prescribed by "The Lean Startup" along with the lean process detailed in "Shape Up" (by Ryan Singer) for scoping work which allows the team to move fast with purpose. The most fulfilling part of the product work day to day is how often we deliver and how soon after we hear about the impact from real users. If a defect shows up in production, the team responds (without finger pointing) and everyone shares in the learning. All that said, my favorite part of the company culture is the genuine humility seen in each interaction between team members all across the company. I've not seen such open and respectful dialog among software engineers in my life and I count myself lucky to be a part of this organization.

If you are someone who prefers meetings, heavy process, detailed design docs or you obsess over all the possible edge cases then Gearflow isn't for you.

You'll see opportunities instead of obstacles, and have a team to support and grow alongside with you. This is not a place for the faint of heart. We operate within a specialized industry that gives very few chances, so getting it right comes with its own set of challenges. As a natural self starter, being fluid in change and having an insatiable drive for accomplishment, I couldn't even imagine working anywhere else.
