Pros
You meet and work with many wonderful people, often from around the world; on the whole, people are respectful and nice. Casual flexibility, while a double-edged sword (See 'cons'), means I can pick up shifts to work around other facets of my life. Plus occasionally you get to see some cool concerts (if you're not too busy)!
Cons
The opportunities for career progression is severely limited, and in most cases non-existent. Being casual also means that your hours can get shortened or cut entirely at a moment's notice, with no recourse. Shift lengths are also variable, and can often be quite short, and sometimes not worth the commute. The bulk of hours are also effectively "seasonal", in that they are based largely around the NRL season, and drop off noticeably after the grand final until the start of the following year's season. If you're looking for stable income, here's probably not the best place, but it's handy if you want some extra pocket money to supplement your main job.
