Pros

—good exposure to the tech world —working here taught me what I should not tolerate in a company

Cons

—CEO is pretty full of himself and isn’t very transparent when something is going wrong. We had a nice conversation about Christmas plans in a 1:1 two weeks before I was let go. He gave me no indication that my source of income was in trouble. He seemed nice and I thought I could have trusted him to be more transparent. —The manager I worked with at the time is no longer there but she was very abusive. She would often throw temper tantrum when one her her reports would make a small mistake. I was too scared to tell anyone because I was brand new and she’s been there for 5+ years. —Her manager regularly cancelled our 1:1s at the last minute. I think he missed opportunities to help me—and ultimately his team—improve when they really needed it. Ultimately I’m responsible for my own goals. However, in hindsight, I was fresh out of college, hardly had any recruiting experience, and had extremely poor leadership here. At least compared to other companies I’ve worked for since. This is by far the worst company I have ever worked for.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, observations and recommendations. We take feedback like this to heart and are very focused on continuous improvement. For example, in the last three years we have restructured the recruiting team and brought in a new recruiting manager to support our New York office. We would like to extend the opportunity to schedule a meeting with Glenn Klein, President of Genesis10, so that he can personally discuss your concerns. Glenn would welcome this opportunity. Please send an email to contactus@genesis10.com to facilitate scheduling.

Pros

Highlight Measurable Achievements: Quantify your success whenever possible. Instead of saying, "I helped with the project," say, "I successfully am learning projects and resulted in a specific positive outcome! Show Initiative and Problem-Solving: Describe a time you proactively identified a problem and developed a solution. For example, "I streamlined the data entry process by implementing that we are learning right now from JIRA, RISK and other methods, which goal is to reduce errors and increase productivity. Demonstrate Team Collaboration: Mention how you helped others or contributed to the team's success. Connect to Company Goals: Link your work directly to the company's broader objectives, and get to know the company goals, and always be ready to grow in any capacity taught. Been here less than a year, but planning on only growth, and hope for conversion in the future with BOA.

Cons

Continue to have an interest in learning and development in each department and assignment given. .
