Pros
Genworth has some excellent people to work with, who know what they're doing, and are enjoyable to solve problems with as team members. Additionally there's a cadre of seasoned veterans who are high-performing and well-connected, making new project teams easier to assimilate. Depending upon the team, this can be very exciting as a new opportunity is always around the next corner. All-in: some truly great minds, working towards an incredibly important social good.
Cons
Genworth has some non-excellent people to work with, who don't know what they're doing, and are not enjoyable to solve problems with as team members. Outside of Actuarial, Genworth has no Analytical Governance meaning anyone can conduct and present analyses without any peer-review. In terms of culture: there are handful of employees that can make the place toxic, that everyone else just has to tolerate. All in: some systemic problems that would make this a challenging place to work even if the business was booming.
