Pros
I worked at the Plant McDonough combined cycle. It was a crash course in project management and had a lot of opportunities to get experience leading a variety of teams (capital projects, craft workers, operators, technical staff).
Cons
Stultifying bureaucracy that made it hard to get anything done. Hostile relations between management and union operations staff. Overwhelming workload. Very "old school" hierarchical management style that I did not care for. If you are more of a nuts and bolt engineer versus a project manager I do not recommend working here. The plant had large engineering needs but nothing about the internal systems or culture supported going after them. They wanted us checking Gantt charts, hounding suppliers. and managing our budgets.
