Pros
Doing projects for major clients.
Cons
You wouldn't believe it. I was assigned to a project team with an architect that's utterly incompetent. She's been at Ghafari for five years, yet I had to re-do about 85% of her work it was so bad. The point is that management just ignores this. Then there's the architect that falls asleep at his desk daily, and again management does nothing. He's been there even longer. OMG. I've never seen anything like it. The good news is that if you're a sub-par architect, you'll find a home at Ghafari. Let's face it, it's not really a place for real architects. It's a heavily engineering oriented company with engineers making up probably 90% of all employees. If you actually care about doing excellent architecture don't waste your time there. The Director and managers of architecture are not the kind of people you'd dream of working for. They leave a great deal to be desired when it comes to sound architecture practices, policies and leadership.
