Pros

This was my first full-time job experience in the field of international education, and it was more than anything I could've expected. I've been with the company almost four years now, and have learned so much about it what means to be an international educator in an industry that is constantly changing and adapting to the needs of students around the world. Of all the organizations out there, one of the main things that stands out to me about GoAbroad.com is the core mission of the company to provide travelers of all ages and backgrounds with resources for meaningful travel. GoAbroad's founder, Troy Peden, embodies this mission every single say, which makes working for a company that is nearly 20 years old, feel much like a start up in its level of enthusiasm and dedication to the cause. When you're as passionate as I am about helping students to see the world, you can't ask for more than that from an employer.

Cons

I wouldn't say I have any cons to express about working for GoAbroad, but those who do take on a role with the company should be able to multi-task in a fast paced and high energy environment. Every person in the office is responsible for a variety of tasks, and this may be challenging for those who are used to a very structured and set routine. Every day is different at GoAbroad, which can be both exciting and overwhelming, depending on how busy things might be at the time. It's also important to note that because there is so much happening, an ability to work independently is as essential as coming together and brainstorming ideas as a team. If this sounds like your cup of tea, be prepared for the most incredible working experiences. It won't always be easy, but the challenges and lessons learned are what will allow for an even more enriching international education career.
