Pros
1) We get food at subsidized rate in canteen. 2) Every year employees get welfare items like towel, soap, umbrella, raincoat, shoes etc. 3) Good place to learn.
Cons
1) There is a lot of bias between employees and officers, employees and supervisors. Officers , supervisors get much better facilities then employees. Officers get time based promotion after every 3 years, whereas employees have to wait for 14 years to be eligible for promotion of supervisor. Also employees have to answer internal exam to be eligible for promotion. Salary of officers is much higher than employees. 2) Autocratic ( bossy ) management style of officers. Employees working under them have to face hardships.If one of their employees doesn’t follow orders, they’lll punish them by putting bad remark in ACR, or by threatening jobs. Officers order employees to do everything, while they sit idle in their cabins doing nothing. 3) Supervisors pressurize the employees to do work at faster rate. Also sometimes supervisors harass their employees. They force their employees to stay for overtime. 4) Work-life balance is okay for employees. No 5 day work week. we get off only on 2nd and 4th saturday. Also long working hrs i.e 8 hrs. Sometimes we have to compulsarily stay overtime till next day. 5) Wage settlement of employees is done after every 10 years. last wage settlement was done in 2018. My salary was increased by only Rs 4000.
