Pros
The Times Square office had lovely views before it closed.
Cons
I only entertained taking this role because from the get go the executives promised $200k total compensation. I was headhunted for this role and given a base of ~$160k, told the rest would be in the form of an annual performance bonus. Three days into the job I was told this company was bankrupt, and it was up to be to save it, as the executives did not have my expertise and their advertising was failing. I discovered that ~20 employees were burning millions in ad spend while padding their wallets with commission for getting views, not sales (essentially embezzling). The former head of a department submitted his resignation immediately, but the executives did not seem to care about the other employees who had driven this company’s once massive profits into the ground. Further, they ignored every plan I put together, and essentially paid me $160k to have the an owner stand behind me all day and nitpick on email template designs down to the pixel. I helped the company last twice as long as the c-suite expected but they did everything in their power to make sure they did not survive bankruptcy.
