Pros

Great salary and benefits offered. Seems to be trying to continually innovate and improve upon the broker insurance model.

Cons

Is being left behind in terms of tech with resistance to sell direct to consumer as competitors do. The culture is rather cut throat and finger pointy as has been mentioned in previous posts.

Pros

Wellness days, salary, caring about the community, diversity, WFH hybrid model.

Cons

Sometimes takes too long to realize they're understaffed and by the time something is done, staff are exhausted.

Pros

Few great colleagues to work with..

Cons

This is by far the worst work culture I have seen in an organization (having worked 5+ different places), and I mean specifically the Data Engineering Team (other teams are cool). Project deadlines given by Director as grossly underestimated (or never estimated). The motto here is "let's move fast" which really means "let's do it wrong the first three times then scramble to fix it." The lack of planning up front means constant fire drills and weekend crunches. And before you ask - no, there's no overtime pay, no comp time, nothing. It's just expected. Burnout is the culture here. In terms of tech, No Standards, No Best Practices. Because "you gotta do it fast". 10 year old industry frameworks, which other organisations have already decomissioned is getting build here. The Director is great at making everything look fine outside while the team is drowning. So nothing ever gets fixed and the management never knows it. I just hope when Beneva takes over they clean up this mess.

Thank you for sharing your feedback—we’re sorry to hear that your experience has not been positive. We’re glad you’ve had the chance to work with some great colleagues. At the same time, we take your concerns around culture, planning, and workload seriously. A fast-paced environment should not come at the expense of quality, sustainability, or team wellbeing. We appreciate you raising these concerns and encourage ongoing dialogue so we can continue to make meaningful improvements.
