Pros

Gym, weekends off, CEO strong motivation and dedication

Cons

You are required to drive into work during all snow storms even during state of emergency. You have to risk your life to get into work or your at risk of losing your job. You have to be at your desk by 8:00am not 8:01. The bell rings .Absolutely no parking so you need to get at work by 7:00am. Everyone in the two buildings are required to go to lunch at exact same time - 12:00 pm not 11:58. Leave your desk like a robot at 12:00pm. Then people run down the stairs like there is a fire or something. You have to be very careful you don’t get pushed down if your not fast enough. You are required to be at your desk by 1:00pm not 1:01. But then there is no parking so you get back at the parking lot to find a spot by 12:35. Oh I forgot to mention the traffic of cars leaving at 12 is pretty bad so you lose about 10 minutes of your lunch time. If you stay at your desk you end up working and eating you will see that the people that do that all end up very large. You can not listen to music, the bathrooms have no paper towels, the toilets are often filled will dark water, the stairway smells like urine, the conference room chairs are broken and people have fallen, the lunch cafe is not the best, they are working on improving that one. The elevator gets stuck all the time, it will just be a matter of time when you will be the next person to be stuck. In the elevator. There is meeting every Monday in which it’s mandatory for everyone to attend. Not enough chairs and it can last for over an hour. There is no maternity leave what so every. No family friendly benefits, no work-life balance, no leadership. No culture, tons of turnover. Don’t do it !

Granite Telecommunications Response
7y
First, I want to apologize for my tardy response. We appreciate you taking the time to review your experience here at Granite. We apologize that your experience here did not match your expectations. We strive to create a positive work environment where our employees have opportunities to grow and succeed within the company and we are saddened to hear that we missed in delivering you that experience. Our CEO has taken it upon himself to sit down with our teammates, provide lunch and openly discuss concerns. We have implemented a new policy for the upcoming winter, created additional parking spaces and have new lunch vendors coming in every Friday. As to your concerns about our work days starting, ending and our lunch hour, we promote a structured schedule so our employees can have a work life balance that they deserve. As for the traffic concerns, unfortunately, traffic is unavoidable in the city. We are disappointed to hear about the cleanliness of the bathroom as they are stocked and cleaned every 3 hours. The concerns you have brought up will be addressed internally and we will work to make a positive improvement within our organization. Again, thank you for your feedback and we wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors.

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
