Granite Telecommunications

Engaged employer

The most phony and archaic sales-centric company that miraculously thrives on an ignorant and naive workforce. - Sales Manager Granite Telecommunications Employee Review

Pros

Ability to make money (in sales only) by following a wildly old-school style of selling.

Cons

Micromanagement is an understatement. Freedom literally doesn’t exist. Perfect for a fresh face out of college with no concept of what a healthy workplace consists of. Everyone else, shame on you for going in knowing how phony and horrible leadership is. No respect for anyone that attempts at moving the needle to make it a healthier, happier environment. You are out for yourself as many before and many after will be sold down the river to make a statement to a team or save themself. Most that thrive (financially) keep their head down and follow blindly. Embarrassing place that shockingly has continued to grow in a reactionary manner within a rather fast-paced industry. At your desk at 8 (or else), lunch at 12-1, final bell rings at 5. It’s HS all over again. That’s not a joke.

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
