Pros
This is an OKAY first job in PR. You get a good idea of how to pitch, coordinate interviews, and work with multiple clients.
If you are curious about agency life, this might be a smaller firm you can test the waters with.
The benefits are actually pretty good!
Cons
Leadership and upper management honestly don't have a clue on how to guide those below them.
- Unclear expectations
- Unfair bias and clear office "favorites"
- Hostility from direct managers and supervisors
- Management does not take accountability for their lack of leadership skills and does not change their approach, nor do they seem interested in doing so.
- professional services/legal clients. Harder to be creative in this field, so if you are looking for fun projects/clients, this is not the place for you.
