Pros

I did like how much training Greystar offered to its employees. Lots of online resources and classes. Benefits were pretty good, too.

Cons

I have nothing good to say. Greystar is a joke. This isn't a grudge either; everyone I worked with felt this way, besides the PM of course. Absolutely no room for advancement and if you do move up, don't expect much of a pay increase. Upper Management is impossible to get a hold of, and if you have a complaint about your superior, prepare to be fired. There is so much drama and such a separation between management and hourly positions that working as a "team" is not possible. Constant talking behind one another's backs and zero follow up on legitimate complaints. I worked there for two years and received no recognition, even though I was a top leasing consultant in the region. I was able to move up once a position opened but had to fight my way for a $5/hr pay increase, which was still less than half of what the property manager was making. I actually made more as a leasing consultant some months because of all of the leasing bonuses I would get. Selling the rates to prospects was difficult, as we couldn't justify why our rates were so much higher than competitors. Telling someone their rent will be $200/mo more if they wait two days to move in is so crazy. Also having to explain to residents why their rent increased year after year without incentives made it extremely hard to be loyal to the company. I couldn't lie to these people and give them a reason as to why there was an increase, because frankly I didn't have one. Greystar is so full of themselves that they can't take a second to appreciate those who actually run the company. They always want more more more, and if you call them out on their faults, they'll kick you to the curb. I would know; I complained and was fired for doing so. Shortly after, both of my leasing consultants quit. Tell me how that could possibly be a good company to work for. Do not get involved with this company. You will regret it.

Pros

-Great networking opportunities. -Good IT support. -Great benifits. -Great employee housing discount and housing opportunities. -Commissions will make your paycheck worth it.

Cons

-Management is broad and impersonal. You may feel like a number. -Your workload can be a lot at times. if you work well under pressure, you'd succeed here. -The leasing season is not year round meaning you will have slow months and you will have good ones. Save in the good months to get through the slow ones. -High turnover. Resilience will get you far. -It's rare that you get your weekends at a company like this.
