Pros
Most of staff on the project teams are amazing, friendly and hard working for their communities. It's a joy to work with staff at Groundwork and the projects make a real impact.
Cons
The organisation's management and support is clearly over its head. There is complacency and dismissiveness with facade of caring behind some hollow wellbeing initiatives that rarely extend to any positive attitude regarding working conditions. A lot of people who are wanting to bring change burn out and move on pretty quickly, especially when managers play favourites in their teams. There is a desire to be seen to be good leaders, without any understanding of what makes a good manager. The level of overworking means a lot of support work is delivered at bare minimum which passes the pressure down through the organisation.
