Guide Dogs for the Blind Response
8yYour review and insights are appreciated. Like many organizations, our culture has had its ups and downs over the years. Guide Dogs for the Blind is committed to continuing our efforts in fostering a truly collaborative and supportive environment and living up to our Values & Behaviors. Change is a process that requires ongoing effort and support. Much good work has been done on all levels within the organization and open and honest feedback helps to highlight the areas to focus on for continued improvement.
Your headline of “Hostile Work Environment” is extremely concerning to us. Guide Dogs for the Blind’s policy prohibits behavior of any kind that would create a hostile work environment and we are committed to fully investigating all such claims. We ask that you please raise your concerns with our VP of Human Resources or directly with me (CEO) so that we can take appropriate action as soon as possible. Should you want to see our full policy, it is available in the employee handbook located on our Intranet. Please know that Guide Dogs for the Blind will not retaliate or take adverse employment action against any employee because they participate in any protected opposition of employment practices.
As mentioned above, we are very committed to improving the culture for all employees within the organization and we would love to have the opportunity to talk with you in more detail about your concerns and ideas for improvement. We just completed an employee engagement survey administered by a third party and the results were very positive. We are happy to receive such great results and excited to be hearing that employees are feeling good about the organization and that we are moving in the right direction. We understand even with such positive results there are always areas of opportunity to continue this trend and we will continue our efforts to do so.
Our employees, volunteers, donors, and clients are our lifeblood and we truly value each and every one. Thank you for your honesty, candor, and contributions.
