Pros
As a family-owned company they had a business operation that was safer and steadier than your typical publicly traded company, especially during 2020 where many companies were laying people off. Additionally, they were growing pretty rapidly. This overall growth has resulted in quite a bit of change - change in focus on growth markets, change in processes, change in structure, change in customer base. But this change was exciting and allowed for opportunities to grow, in terms of scope of role, newly created positions, and internal promotions.
Cons
The fast-paced environment isn’t for everyone. This phase of their business was communicated clearly during the interview process though. In a mid-sized company like HARTING, it’s great that good performance goes very well noticed and rewarded, but so goes noticed poor performance. If you’re looking to just go through the motions and be under the radar, this might not be the best place for you. If you’re looking for a challenge and opportunities to grow, then it will be the right place.
