Pros
Good if you had laid off from the previous job and needs a survival job for a very short period of time. Good if you are working for a reputed client, only if the interaction is directly with the client team and not with HCL.
Cons
The manager that hires you gets brownie points for hiring you to the team. The management does not care of how the project goes afterwards. After a project contract expires, nobody will help you to transfer to a new project or to a new client. Why does the employee has to get released from employment if the management or the HRs or any other SPOCs are not able to find a project with a client for you, because of the lack of ability of the managers ? There are 100s of HRs and other SPOCS from onsite and offshore, but none close to providing of any assistance when required.
