Pros

Was once the greatest company on Earth. Inventive, inclusionary, funded risk, 22 stock splits. Yes, it wasn't all rainbows and unicorns; there were squabbles, differences of opinion, and sometimes people who didn't follow The HP Way. But over time, these people were either corrected or they left HP. When HP moved to India and Japan, the Founders didn't cut American jobs and shutdown in the US, no, they started new businesses IN these and other countries and created economic equilibrium. Not economic chaos.

Cons

This company is so sad now. The 'merge and purge head-fake' of the numerous CEO's who were pretending they were doing something so they could engorge on Bonus money by using the paychecks of the employees, has finally taken its toll. If maximizing shareholder value was the plan, well, that didn't work either. the stock never grew and split. Finally the company split and split. Who knows what they do? -I guess those large divided positioned stock players were getting $1.85 then $1.86 did get something, but they missed getting splits and $2 an $3 opportunities by back the Board for these crumbs achieved.

Pros

Great work/life balance Competitive Pay A players Manager support Global company Good bonuses

Cons

Goals change so frequently sometimes it felt as though all the hard work was for nothing. Competitive environment so you need to show your value outside of your role to get assistance and build a brand/ name for yourself. Internal opportunities "require" referrals and building rapport with that team. Otherwise your application is ignored. Salary raises are not great so negotiate your incoming salary well. Your direct manager shapes your experience, not a con necessarily. Poor managers or shift in management can impact your experience heavily.
