mission statement was patients first. their care was priority and the Nurses were able to treat patients autonomously with in the structure provided and the laws of medicine.

management/ownership changed, Doctors and Nursing continued to work together for the patients, budget became an issue. then they restructured and layed many of us off. me more because of my accident in 2006, (was working for them)

This position requires the dynamics of a true caregiver, one that truly has respect for the patient and family. The commitment is beyond the normal, and what nursing should be.

The only difficulty, or struggle, which affects most employment is working with others who lack in skills, or do not have a true commitment to the position and it’s requirements. In summary, I’ve seen those who forget why they are there, resulting in failure to the patients, family, and of course, coworkers.
