Pros
Great hourly pay, comparable to unions scale or better. AAA Four Diamond hotel, so F&B is upscale in terms of product and service. Uniforms and one meal provided. Parking is cheap for Waikiki area. Most co-workers are culinary graduates or have good knowledge of techniques.
Cons
Non-union, so working hours can vary greatly and there is no restrictions on "time between shifts". 4 Diamond, but food could be more upscale. Uniforms are not very nice considering rating of hotel. Lots of workers have bad work ethic, but seems typical for Hawaii. At the time of my employment, management (chefs) didn't seem to care about organization, efficiency, cleanliness, and product integrity.
