Working at Halo has been more than just a job for me; it’s been a career. If you’re someone looking for a quick stepping stone, this may not be the right place. Halo thrives on long-term vision, loyalty, and culture, which is exactly why I’ve stayed. Even though I’m currently a Regional Director, my journey at Halo has been relatively short. What’s remarkable is how quickly my career has progressed. I’ve explored many different roles and given each one my all, and that fast-paced environment has allowed me to grow in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
There are three key pillars I look for in a career, and Halo has exceeded all of them:
Problem Solving: At my core, I’m a problem solver, and Halo consistently provides me with opportunities to tackle new and unique challenges. Whether it's on the support desk, client implementations, sales, or team collaboration, every day offers something different. I thrive on working toward solutions that genuinely make a difference. I could never stay at a job where every day felt the same. The dynamic nature of the work at Halo keeps me engaged and excited for what’s next.
Engagement: When I first joined Halo, I was set on becoming a developer. However, I quickly realized that path felt too isolated. I wanted more interaction, and at Halo, I found it. Whether it’s working as a consultant, speaking with customers, or collaborating with my team, I’ve never felt more engaged. The constant communication and diverse opportunities to connect with others have made the work environment incredibly fulfilling.
Opportunity: This is where Halo truly stands out. I’ve had opportunities here that most people only dream of. Originally from South Africa, I moved to the UK, and while I loved the company, I struggled with the country's culture and weather. I was open about my challenges, and Halo’s senior staff not only understood but offered me the chance to move back to South Africa and continue my work, or transition to other offices like the West Coast in the US or Melbourne, Australia. After considering my options, I took the leap to the US, where I thrived, progressing from a junior consultant to a senior consultant. The journey didn’t stop there—I was offered the chance to travel the world for Halo, spreading the word about our mission. It was during one of these trips that I met my wife. Later, Halo supported my decision to move to Florida, offering me the opportunity to open the East Coast office—a role that truly felt like the next big step in my career.
Beyond career growth, Halo offers incredible benefits that truly stand out. One of the biggest perks is the unlimited PTO policy. This isn’t just a policy on paper—it’s genuinely unlimited. No one questions how much time you take off, as long as you're delivering great results, keeping clients and colleagues happy, and doing your job well. The PTO is auto-approved when submitted, providing an amazing sense of trust and flexibility.
The travel opportunities at Halo are endless. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit places I once only dreamed of. Halo also gives you the freedom to manage your schedule and work hours in a way that suits you. They support what works for you, as long as you’re achieving results. There’s a strong emphasis on self-management and making your own decisions. While you’re always welcome to seek advice from senior members, the responsibility and autonomy to make decisions are yours.
At Halo, mistakes aren’t something to be feared. I’ve made my share of errors, but instead of feeling like my career was at risk, my mentor always asked, “Did you learn from it?” This mentality of growth and learning, rather than punishment, has been integral to my development here.
In summary, Halo has been a place of incredible opportunity, growth, and autonomy. If you’re looking for a career where you’re trusted, given room to grow, and supported in both successes and learning moments, this is the place for you.
