Cons
How they control your ability to use your hard earned vacation time. Vacation time is picked by seniority (Approx. 80 drivers}. They control the calendar by only allowing four drivers off per week. Senior most drivers {holding most vacation time, 4-5 weeks} pick first from an open calendar. The desired weeks that most drivers and there families want to vacation fill quickly. Leaving the lower 50 -60 percent of the seniority list with undesirable times of the year to utilize there vacation time, Drivers are "Paid per mile", How it is actually paid... They have EVERY truck route to EVERY store set at the lowest possible mileage route. So any deviation from there "lowest possible mileage route" isn't paid. If you cant utilize the exact route someone used to achieve the "lowest possible mileage" your driving miles you wont be compensated for. Then there's the store to store miles, when you have goods on board for multiple stores. They will only pay the mileage equal to the lowest mileage ever achieved. For loads leaving there distribution centers to there store locations they provide "directions". There are no directions provided for store to store locations. So your are on your own to figure out the store to store route, But only paid for "lowest mileage achieved".
