Pros
I love the atmosphere and the people i work with, i know just about everyone at my store and they are like a 2nd family to me. It's the main reason why i have stayed with the company for so long, the people you work with makes a huge difference in your attitude of where you work. Great 1st time job to gain customer service experience
Cons
I started with Harris Teeter as my first job back when I was in high school making $7.50 as a cashier, 10 years later i am crossed trained with just about every department in the store (besides meat and receiving) and can help out anywhere that's needed. With that said, I've learned that the company is very stingy when it comes to raises. You receive a yearly raise with the rest of the company of about 25 cents. Any other time, don't expect a raise regardless of how hardworking or how long you been with the company. 10 years later as a full time employee, i am only making $10 an hour, well under a livable wage for NC.
