Pros

Great resources from the institution as a whole regarding research and career development. Maternity leave policy is decent, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't given all the leave weeks I was entitled to per state policy (a systemic issue in Massachusetts). The health insurance was excellent and I miss it! Facilities are good.

Cons

Salary still sucks given that it's Boston, but it's decent for a postdoc position. Little benefits. My main issues with the experience had more to do with the systemic issues in academia in how postdocs and women are treated in the academic workplace. Some of those issues were less concerning at Harvard while some were a lot worse than what I've experienced at other institutions.

Pros

You work with experts from every field possible in science from Mechanobiology to Metallurgy and working as a ML intern along with scientists from different fields gave me a lot of exposure and how to work in a research department.

Cons

One challenge encountered was maintaining a clear focus on training objectives, as the evolving parameters required continuous reassessment of the model's learning priorities. Additionally, the absence of established ground truth for the domain presented a limitation in validating and guiding the approach effectively.
