If you like the fitness industry you will enjoy the actual aspects of the position. Depending on the site you may get the chance to do some personal training and group fitness classes.

1) Management is atrocious - they are not there to support you when you need it. 2) Do not even get me started on the owner... he is cheap, dishonest, and does not care about his employees. I can honestly say I would never work for him. I would take less to work for someone else (which says a lot as the pay is poor here). 3) Benefits (if you can call them that) are horrendous. No 401k period, you do get dental insurance, and no health insurance. Instead of health insurance they give you a $200 stipend a month to go towards healthcare (which may be enough to cover 50% of a plan). This is what they were providing when I worked there, ending in Jan 2016. I do not know if this has changed. 4) no room for promotion or anything of that nature.
