Pros

Excellent people, small enough to involve lower level managers and even supervisors in decision-making processes. Above-average compensation for certain high-responsibility positions. Flexible time off for family events, very high on the work-life balance scale, particularly for managers.

Cons

A bit too conservative and slow-moving compared to their competition at times which can lead to job boredom and stagnation. To some degree it goes with the territory in the world of banking.

Pros

Close to home. Support local initiatives (such as the 4-H at Barry County Fair. Many of the people that work there are very nice and welcoming. Easy to make "work friends." Very nice newer building.

Cons

Lack of push to expand departments (IT, operations, loan processing) and provide necessary tools. Executives have made a habit of treating these individuals as administrative assistants. If they need something filed, a letter stuffed, a mass marketing email sent out, giant loan documents scanned, even a computer mouse replaced or a monitor plugged in then they send a request to the downstairs. These individuals become the personal assistants/executive assistants while they're still trying to wire money, monitor fraud, answer customer phone calls, troubleshoot systems, move loan documents, install software updates, balance accounts, etc. Extreme lack of separation of job duties and using "other duties as assigned" to the max. Extreme need for departmental administrative assistants and a bank call center.
