Pros

Great set of people. Employees are very kind and work very hard. Flexibility with schedule Opportunity to work with people with >30 years of experience in histology Good Health insurance (for employees only) Management went out of their way to accommodate employees during COVID

Cons

Limited growth opportunities and benefits are limited (management is working rigorously to change that)

Pros

I've been with the company for a few years and I absolutely love it here. The bosses do a good job of pairing you with a position where you will be successful and learn histology techniques very thoroughly. Though everybody is serious about the work and very vested in the quality (and therefore proud of their results), the atmosphere is lighthearted and the intraoffice rivalries are quite amusing for everyone. We also still make sure to celebrate everyone's birthdays (for context, there are about 25 people working here right now), and we get summer (around July 4th) and winter breaks, which I'm very thankful for and spend with my family. They say that someone's true character comes out when the times are bad. Well, we have been pretty fortunate at Histoserv, but what I really respected in all of my years here was when we had miniature dips in business, the bosses did absolutely whatever they could to ensure employees were ok. I have worked a few other jobs and just haven't had as sincere or caring bosses and mentors. Very proud to be part of the team here at Histoserv & wishing for many more years here!

Cons

As much as I enjoy the work and as proud as I am about my results and recognition, I would like to have more opportunities for management. I understand that's not always possible as our team isn't rapidly expanding and that management comes with time and more employees. I also wish I were able to be a part of the July 4th summer break cohort instead of the May cohort this past year. But, I guess I didn't have as high priorities as some of the other employees; the bosses did agree to it for next summer though, which is nice!
