Pros

Good work environment. Friendly co-workers and bosses. Usually got good feedback about whether I was doing a good job or not.

Cons

Limited opportunities. Unstructured protocols. Pay was decent but probably not inline with other jobs like the one I had. Industry is now in decline. Products were less than quality.

Pros

The company offers a 50% discount to employees as well as their friends and family. They have a good selection of of area rugs and unique accessories and furniture to choose from.

Cons

There's no commission even though they have a high expectations for the sales staff. The company does little to no advertising even though the parent company, The Home Depot, has ads for their stores all over the place. Sales associates are expected to reach certain sales goals although there's no reward, and therefore no incentive. The five stores are compared to each other, although they aren't on a level playing field. One of the stores occupies the same building as The Home Depot, which gives them exposure to a lot more customers. The sales associate position basically a slightly over minimum wage position. There's very little room for advancement and the annual raise is 25 cents per year. This isn't a company that I plan to stay at for long.
