No vision, No structure, No direction - Marketing Home Trends & Design Employee Review

Pros

There are no pros for working here. The only decent thing about this place were some of the employees, the ones who actually had a good work ethic. These positive reviews were written by employees who are new to the company and really don't know which way is up.

Cons

This company and upper management, if you can call it that, have zero vision, structure or direction. If you took a handful of darts and threw them at a dart board to see which one stuck - that would be this company. One minute you have a "direction" then the next second it's changed. Deadlines are NEVER met because of this constant re-direction - leaving you rushing to complete projects. You can't win, you are fighting a losing battle. There is absolutely no growth and nothing to learn from this company - unless you want to test your confidence, strength and courage.

Pros

HTD is a great company to work! It's a small company owned by truly great people with plenty of opportunity to advance your skills and career. All of the reviews that say otherwise are from people who either don't have work ethic or skills to handle the responsibility that comes with small business. Honest people and wonderful work environment.

Cons

As a small company everyone wears multiple hats. If you love the work you do and the people you do it with that's not an issue.

Pros

401k matching is good, Flexible work schedule for office staff, Nice microwave in break room

Cons

Without an HR person to keep employers and employees in check, the overall office environment can be described, in the politest way possible, as playing favorites: Key employees are often unrewarded and pushed to do more while receiving little praise. Cherished employees receive plenty of praise but do little to earn reward. Also, there is an unfortunate divide between warehouse and office staff that has grown stronger over the past year, because upper management has not stepped in to make sure everyone feels equally included at the workplace. Additionally, the bonus program is finiky. So, keep an eye on your hourly rate to make sure you can comfortably live off that amount. All in all, I observed many people unhappy with the office environment and with upper management. I too was unhappy and much happier now that I am gone.
