Pros

I worked at Homegoods throughout my college career, and have had a pretty good experience, but that's mostly due to liking my coworkers. Aside from that, it is nice being able to switch around and work multiple postions (backroom, sales floor, registers, etc).

Cons

Unlike big retail stores there's a lack of employees working at one time, or at least in my location, which makes it hard at times. You could be helping a customer get a huge rug down, with the people at the front end calling you to ring, while in the meantime you're supposed to be picking up an organizing an entire 3rd of the sales floor. It's a lot of hard work.

Pros

it is a job if you desperately need one

Cons

management does not keep promises (e.g. I was promised $2 higher pay upon accepting the position and later was told it wasn't feasible anymore once starting. I was also promised a specific day off then last minute had it revoked because they decided to make it a mandatory day). management does not listen to or care about its employees, very unprofessional. store managers don't want to do anything to help, they just sit in the office. management let other employees slack off and do nothing and expected others to compensate for their lack of effort general manager was horribly rude and misogynistic. he threw a box at someone while visiting.
