Pros
-You can get supervision done for BCBA certification hours.
Cons
where do I start. -15 min lunch break. Walking to and from your kid so really its a 10 min break including waiting for the microwave if you need it. So bring a cold lunch. -If your kid doesn't show up, they pay you through the PTO you have. -you get 88 hours of PTO a year including sick time. You get 40 hours of sick time, but heaven forbid if you use it. You get paid for sick time through PTO. If you call out sick, the BCBAs complain that they have to take your kid and run sessions. -Some of the BCBAs are awful and shouldn't be in the field. One of the BCBAs boasted in a full-staff meeting that she was too advanced in her career to be taking over RBT sessions when they call out sick. I would never work again for a BCBA that despises the work of an RBT. DON'T BE IN THE FIELD! -You accumulate points for being sick. You get 9 points per year. So if you call out sick one day, there you go, 1 point. -Staff and kids get sick ALL THE TIME. So it doesn't take long for staff to accumulate 9 points. There are kids throwing up multiple times and they won't be sent home. -Staff are required to clean, but don't. Leading to more people getting sick. -No one is happy there. Staff fear getting fired all the time. - Pay is decent put pay raises are in the cents.
