Pros

-Unlimited PTO -There was a wonderful group of journalists when I was there...unfortunately, most of the reporters have either left or will likely head for the door soon

Cons

-HousingWire bends to the whims of advertisers/ companies that operate in the housing industry. During my time at HW it was not uncommon for published articles to be changed/ modified if a company complained about coverage. Massive red flag! -Editor-in-chief came out of a PR catalogue. By her calculations, press release rewrites suffice as top-notch journalism. Meanwhile, the managing editor has lost all interest in his job and seems to be hanging on for an easy paycheck. - If you want to learn and grow as a reporter...this is not the place for you. You will not receive feedback, you will not be edited, nor will you be pushed to become a better writer. However, if rewriting unoriginal content is your cup of tea, this can be a gravy train.
