Pros

In my 25+ years in the workforce, all I ever had were "jobs": a way to pay the bills, and tolerated until something better came along. I never in my adult life worked for a company that sparked my ambitions. Until now. This company has allowed me the opportunity and freedom to pursue something better in myself. My ideas are welcomed and discussed. I have the flexibility to try different ways of tackling tasks to learn what works best. Fairness and cooperation are the norm. Accountability, responsibility, tolerance, and respect are expected, and in return, given. Staff are encouraged to speak up, not just "follow orders" like an automaton. Since I've joined this company over a year ago, I have seen phenomenal growth. Growth in the company environment, growth in terms of expansion, growth amongst staff and management, and growth in my own capabilities. I have finally found where I am meant to be, and I'm confident that the future is very bright for Humanity Plus Homes. The pay is commensurate to the work being performed. No more, no less. However, there are some things that are just as important as monetary earnings that make or break or a job. Life/work balance, company culture, advancement opportunities, access to benefits, PTO, great coworkers, consistency and fairness, and meaningful, satisfying work all contribute to an employees level of satisfaction with their job role, in addition to their earnings. I've had offers of more money to leave HPH. I flat out will not do it. I am satisfied with my earnings here, and to risk losing all of the other positive things that make working here great- there's no way I'd risk that for a couple bucks more. Some things just can not be measured in dollars.

Cons

Because of the nature of this field, the turn over rate for entry level staff is traditionally on the higher side. Working with MR/DD clients isn't for everyone. Those who find its not for them usually end up staying appx 3 to 6 months. But that's the industry and not exclusive to HPH. Communication issues between staff can arise. It is something that is actively and steadily improving, though, through the implementation of new policies. HPH is an established company, but newer, and as such, doesn't have (yet) some of the perks that longer established companies may offer (company car/van at the homes, 100% digital record keeping format, etc.).

Pros

Reasonable pay, slightly flexible scheduling.

Cons

Unprofessional, unorganized, they do not care for suggestions of structure, they do not hold themselves accountable for their own actions (it is always someone else’s fault), was told by HR to accept abusive and manipulative behavior from owner and if I didn’t it was “unprofessional”, emails go unanswered, everything is a toss up day to day.
