Pros

Co-workers were hardworking, solid people. We had good clients.

Cons

The truth is, this is a tiny, struggling start up that is absolute misery to work at. I was hired as an "independent contractor", despite being expected to be on site, working full time Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week or more. There was no vacation, no sick time, no benefits of any kind. I am told that this has since been changed, but for the few months I worked here, I worked 9-10 hour days all the time with no benefits whatsoever. Every employee (all three of us) was micromanaged to a debilitating degree. This was probably the worst aspect of the job. I wrote dozens of blog posts, but since leaving, the CEO has reclassified all of my posts under his name, which is rather unethical in my opinion. When I finally quit, my employer created the new job posting for my position by copy-and-pasting my LinkedIn description of my position word for word, and never bothered to mention this to me. People are hired who are usually fresh out of college, have tons of energy and potential, but are then overworked, underpaid, and blatantly taken advantage of. Several employees worked for just a few days or weeks before realizing what a scam it was to work for this place, and quit on the spot. I wish someone had written a Glassdoor review when I was hired, because I had no idea what kind of a nightmare I was getting myself into when I started working here.

Pros

Work from home (but you are so monitored and micromanaged that you can barely get up to do something for 5 minutes quick)

Cons

I was so excited to join this team, and some of the people were great BUT the work environment of people so insanely monitored and micromanaged is so toxc and awful for employees mental health. If I got up to run to the mail room or move my laundry over for 5 minutes the system would alert that I wasn’t working. Which is insane, people take WFH roles to be able to have a little balance in their life and it felt worse than when I was in office 5 days a week. No real HR, some guy does it but has zero empathy and emotion. When I was inquiring about my layoff and if I got severance, PTO paid back, and other things he would respond with one word and be dismissive and never answer what I asked. When I got laid off it was a 5 minute call telling me they are eliminating my position bc of budgets and when I asked any questions I was meet with “I don’t know.” so unprofessional. I should of seen the red flags when they used Skype for the team chats and there was zero security in it. Overall, this job was the biggest let down ever and the pay was not great for how much they work they put on you.
