Pros

It's a very laid-back workplace when there's not much work going on. Attire is casual (I showed up in sweats on a regular basis), everyone is friendly, and since the office is small with only ten people working in the location at most, you won't have a problem getting to know everyone. As a small business, you will be learning and doing more than the average position at this salary, but I guarantee you that helps build your resume if you need it, which I explain in the next paragraph. There were actually plenty of opportunities to be had. I won't explain exactly what I did because I believe there was a distinction in what I was doing which could easily single me out (even if Glassdoor claims it's anonymous-- yeah, that's also how small the workforce is), but when I spoke to my interviewers about ICY DOCK while applying for positions, I was actually asked, "why would you want to leave? It looks like you have so much opportunity to grow here." I actually attribute working here to my ability to find another job so quickly, in my field of expertise nonetheless! The hours are also very flexible, as I would be able to put my work hours on days or times when I didn't have school. If you need to call in sick, you can. If you have an appointment, you can block that time out of your day. But it goes without saying, don't take advantage of this. They mean well when they allow this, so don't betray that (seriously, they're great people). This would be a great place for anyone working in computers to hold a job, especially those who go to school in the area (CPP, Citrus College, Mt. SAC). While most of your work will be in customer service, the experience does go a long way, especially if you're aspiring to do business (such as a CIS major). Don't go into a McDonald's job. Don't get that desk clerk job at the county with the uptight atmosphere. If you have the opportunity and are in the area, apply here and work here, because I can definitely say it's one of the best jobs I've had throughout my college years. I'd end this review with this paragraph, but I have a cons section to get to, unfortunately.

Cons

The job is broken up into three main tasks: customer service, marketing outreach, and if need be, on the lookout for opportunities that the company can take. However, even under these three main tasks, work is repetitive. Customer issues will vary day-by-day, but that's just about where the variation ends. Marketing outreach is looking for YouTube reviewers and written blogs who will make videos or a written article of the product, or emailing past organizations or new companies who may be interested in trying out the product. This gets repetitive as you typically won't hear back from anyone, so you have to keep messaging or finding new people to message. This task seems more like a chore than anything, which becomes less appealing when it goes hand-in-hand with the third task. And in terms of the workload, customer requests make you very busy on Monday and Tuesday, which makes those two days my favorite days of the week. The other three days, your work looks like this: 30% customer service, 70% the rest of what I just mentioned above. Sometimes if you run out of people to contact, you get this issue: idle time. You're sitting there thinking, you've done your tasks, you've done what you can, now what, and I guarantee it's boring to simply sit there and watch the clock. After all, you're here to work.
