Pros
IGNITE is a great company made up of a very friendly and highly skilled multi-disciplinary team. I always appreciated the awesome team culture. Everyone is always available for a chat, there are weekly pub lunches on Fridays, and special celebrations for birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas. More so, IGNITE provides a lot of flexibility with the type of work you do. I initially started working at IGNITE as a design student intern, but through the guidance of Anthony the dev team, I slowly become more interested and involved in the development side. I was always encouraged to learn new things and was given the time and resources (like Udemy courses and books) necessary to become proficient in a range of new technologies. One thing I really appreciate about IGNITE is that it celebrates innovation and new ideas. If you come up with a better way to do something that can save time or resources, then that will likely become the new standard. Anthony leads by example by continuously pushing himself to learn more and push the boundaries. Reason for leaving: I decided to pursue a degree in computer science. This decision was heavily supported by Anthony and he provided me with flexible work hours so that I could continue to work part-time during my degree. In the second year of my degree, my workload significantly increased and after many constructive conversations with Anthony, I eventually decided to focus on my uni degree full time.
