Pros

Some of the people are nice the food was sometimes ok Very flexible with sitting needs

Cons

The reviews that give them 5 stars are ether new or part of the problem. Listen.. there are probably worst companies and my experience working here was not completely negative. I did meet good friends and nice colleagues. But the culture here is not great. You will start work here and think its the best place in the world for the first year or two! Until you notice how this company works like a high school. Most of the managment forget that its just a game and it is supposed to be fun to work on games but they suck the life out of it. There are quite a few toxic people working here that have a delirium of power over people. And I think its the problem. The atmosphere gets quite negative and a lot of people quit because of this.

Pros

- Great people to work with, that try to create a fun and good environment - Fun projects that can be inspiring to work on

Cons

- Terrible communication, even though one of the pillars of the company is to "speak true" - it rarely is the case - Bad management and directors. Pretty much all directors hold their current positions based on nepotism and not skill, which shows. Everything is planned as if done by amateurs. - Some of the lowest salaries you'll see. They'll blame that on the local competition, but the local competition is paying criminally low already. If you compare to other studios in similar situations and sizes as IOI, you'll realize that your salary will be way below average. - Preaches no crunch culture and pride themselves on that they have never crunched. This couldn't be farther from the truth. We crunch, and recently it's been a lot of it. Yet the studio doesn't want to openly call it crunch, and instead labels it as us being "passionate". We are not passionate. We are crunching. Be honest. - The inexperience and miscommunication of certain producers and leads is horrible. Again, communication between teams is bad as it is, and with a game release on the horizon, everyone is focusing on fixing the product rather than fixing the team that is building it.

Pros

Opportunities to learn and expand in other areas seem to be there. Decent perks - events - outgoings. Some people are nice and faithful. It's very relaxed, though it's not always the best thing.

Cons

- Rotten company culture - Open harassment and bullying - A general atmosphere which is kind of detached from reality - Questionable people - Massive nepotism - Lack of honesty while pretending to be open and honest - Overtime is rewarded (maybe that is a positive for some) - Widespread gaslighting - Terrible disrespect by other employess - Tech is rusty but everyone pretends it's industry-leading Someone else in a review called IOI a "Weird atmosphere of pseudo-utopia, with critique coming from employees mostly dismissed and ignored by the management.". Spot on. Harassment and bullying are a completely normal and accepted standard, as the policy of IOI's HR department is to dismiss and ignore all issues. One can do whatever one wants to any other employee(s) with 0 consequences, even when that heavily impacts the environment. Everyone pretends it does not exist and carries on. Not a single person will put themselves under for you. The echo chamber thing is real, at the offices everyone repeats the same ideas and agrees with everything, but outside of the office everyone opens up about issues like harassment, overtime, lack of trust in the company and projects, critique being dismissed etc. Ask yourself why there is such a big dissonance between what you read here and what you hear internally.
