Cons
At it’s core IQPC is a pretty bad place to work and it all relates back to an absolute lack of vision, strategy or ideals at the companies core. The most senior leaders only goal is profit. Nothing else. This means that there is no premium on execution and events, portfolios, employees and ideas are only judged on how big the profit cell is in the MD’s spreadsheet. This leads to producers putting out ~8 events a year, often juggling four conferences in various stages of production, making it difficult to focus on the task at hand. This also means that events deadlines are very quick, with quality taking a hit as producers rush to get their assigned number of speakers onto the agenda in the prescribed amount of time, before starting a new event while still working on filling out existing conference agendas. This leads to burnout, high levels of stress and events that often leave much to be desired. Further, because profit is the only real goal, IQPC cuts corners on cost anywhere and everywhere, leading to barebones events, employees with no resources and a complete lack of respect paid to their employees and to the audiences the supposedly serve. The events only exist because someone somewhere thinks that there is money to be made, and you as the producer can either prove them right, or prove them wrong and be asked to take your talents elsewhere. There is no onus on quality, integrity or vision.
