The brand concept was strong and there were talented people across the organization. The stores themselves can be fun and the product is easy for customers to engage with. The company had the potential to build something much stronger with the right leadership and culture.

The corporate environment became increasingly toxic during my time there. Leadership talked a lot about culture and collaboration, but the behavior inside the organization often said the opposite. Decisions were frequently driven by ego rather than strategy, and experienced leaders were not always empowered to do the jobs they were hired to do. Communication from the top was inconsistent and priorities changed constantly. This created confusion across departments and made it difficult to build long term plans. Corporate leadership also felt disconnected from the realities of running a growing retail organization. Many talented people left over time because they saw the direction the culture was heading. What could have been a very strong brand was undermined by internal politics and poor leadership accountability.
