Pros

For a while they were doing interesting work developing new businesses as a business incubator. The bulk of the staff behind those efforts are now gone after it was revealed that the business is being funded through the sale of black market software. The people that used to be there were terrific and very talented.

Cons

This business is owned by Anthony Boldin who has a long history of selling software obtained in the black market. Microsoft sued him and obtained a judgment of over a million dollars. This is public record. Adobe is now actively suing him and one of the business that IceFrog owns and operates, Green Forest Software for copyright infringement. This information is all available on the Internet, all you need do is a bit of google research. I, as well as other employees discovered that this business is being supported through the sale of black market software through numerous websites Boldin runs including softwarefast.com, greenforestsoftware.com, bargainvalley.com and others. The revenue from those businesses fund IceFrog. Be advised that you as an employee could be participating in this unethical and possibly illegal activity. When confronted, Anthony claimed to the whole company that he would stop selling this kind of software but it was quickly discovered that he did not.

Pros

AB, was awesome to work for and he helped everyone in a time of need and I mean everyone. The reality of startup companies is that they aren’t for everyone, and on person’s cons may be another person’s pros. But evaluating what you want out of a company and where you see your future, you can determine the right fit for you. Startups may fail, but there’s always the chance it will be a success, and even if it isn’t, you will undoubtedly walk away with a unique experience to help you find your next job. Every startup is different, but the common themes tend to be weird hours, small teams, ranging benefits, and a group of passionate individuals with one goal. I moved to Atlanta but I still miss IceFrog.

Cons

Parking, Traffic, Cold, Snow, Food Choices
