Pros
Good pay and fair benefits. Depends on your manager and function, but you maybe lucky to have a flexible working from home schedule. Overall low stress environment if you are in corporate office.
Cons
The list could be long, but major issues come from the HQ in Paris, since company is growing constantly through acquisitions, there is no aliment or integration office exists. There is no clear organizational structure, as well, no clear vision or mission. The main goal is to sell as much as you can and get great margins. Organization consists of independently managed business units, who pursue only their own target margins, despite of overall company strategic goals, which seems got lost in translation and miscommunication between France and North America's offices. There is no unity in processes and systems. Total lack of collaboration between business units, and supporting groups, such as IT, AP, HR all of them are pretty useless. Shared Services organization just been established (for the company with 100 years old history!!!) and run by the people who have little business experience in establishing new practices. Promotion or assignment to the new role comes not because you are the most qualified candidate, but because of the politics and who knows who, mostly French to French, and if you've been with the company since infancy. You have better chance to get constantly promoted, if you started with Imerys right after college, been here all your career, and have only internal training, rather when you came from outside and have plenty of expertise earning it from different companies.
